Mood: Pumpkin Smash

It is now officially one day till All Hallows' Eve, and I haven't a thing to wear! Halloween is one of my favorite days of the year, and yet for some reason this year seems so ... lackluster. Joe blames it on the fact that we never made it to the pumpkin patch. I think he may be right.

I don't want to come off as a total Pumpkin Grinch here, but this has been a financially rocky month for us. I did a great job of racking up a hefty dental bill (just so ya know, fillings apparently have a shelf-life of about 6 years, and then all magically fall out at the same time), thus stripping me of costume funds.

I've been toying with the idea of making a costume, but let's not kid ourselves ... do-it-yourself projects almost always cost more in parts than the actual end result would cost brand new. *A quick shoutout to Michelle and her friends who made the most awesome sushi costumes this year!

I just don't know. Since I can't decide, why don't you inspire me with your ideas! What are you going to be this year?!

  1. Someone at my work dressed up as sushi last year too and I thought it was so creative. :)

I am not dressing up, but that shouldn't come as a surprise as I rarely do.......and even Dan may not dress up....he just doesn't want to spend the ridiculous amount of money that it costs to buy a good costume...and we've used our creativity up in the last couple of years with do it yourself (affordable) costumes...he's gonna go shopping after Halloween though and buy his costume for next year at a discount.....maybe you might want to consider doing the same?

He's also going to buy a Jack Skellington costume that he can wear every year to go trick or treating at Disneyland with Caydan...we figured that wouldn't ever get old. :)

I say...go for a 70's hippie look...you can go to the thrift shop/goodwill store and get something with a 70's flair, put a string thingie on your head around your forehead....superflat hair...glitter everywhere...flowers in your hair...cat eye makeup...and voila! Super cute and super affordable. :)
