Spring cleaning at its best

I had such a fabulous weekend with my boyfriend this week! You can tell by the sounds of chirping birds and the buzzing of BBQ plans that it's time for the annual Spring Cleaning Frenzy. I tend to dread this portion of the year, but for some wacky reason I've actually been into it this time around!

Day 1: We started off by gutting the bedroom and repositioning the furniture that we want to keep. We also built a p.o.s wire rack from Target to contain the aftermath of my shoe addiction (much needed). I don't think I've laughed that hard in ages! One often forgets that instructions are included for a reason, and even though the structure might be simple (in theory), there is always room for error! After 3 tries and finally succumbing to those blasted directions, we had shoes off of the floor and into cubbies. Pretty!

We then had to dismantle the aquatic ghost town of a fish tank that is now void of fishies :( We pretty much rocked that task too. Funny, we had avoided this chore and dreaded it more than anything, and yet it was the easiest to get done.

Day 2: The bed- we hung the mosquito netting that I love so much and threw out mismatched throw pillows. There was sewing involved, so I tackled that while Joe installed hooks for the netting.

There is still so much to do, but we made a HUGE dent in one little weekend. So for the next week, we'll just keep on keepin' on.

  2. Wow, good job! That's when you know you're happy and in love — when repositioning furniture and dismantling a fish tank can be called fabulous :)
