When I was a teen I loved Anne Rice and all things broody and sensuous. I embraced this persona as though I had found myself. It worked really well with angsty teen emotion and the desire to know who I was.
Recently though, I had this moment of clarity where I differentiated between defining yourself vs finding yourself. Defining yourself is external- it's a conscious act of putting on a mask to show the world who you want to be, and hopefully they'll believe what they see; finding yourself is completely internal- it hits without warning, and it's finding absolute peace and elation with who you are.
I've only recently found myself, and while it's certainly an ongoing adventure, I can honestly say that I stumbled across this new me rather than sought her out. It's genuine. There is such a zen quality to this sort of self-discovery!

And of course I'm passionate about blogging and writing for children! The notion of writing for profit elates me beyond my wildest dreams! Now that I've taken solace in who I am and what I want, I don't think it will long before my dreams become a reality!
