My parents are so out of touch, it baffles me sometimes! Yesterday I had to explain what S'mores were to my dad. The day before, my mom stared at me blankly when I referenced Fast Times at Ridgemont High. They need a little pop culture in their lives!

'learn em!
ReplyDelete:)
How can you not know what s'mores are??? I have a feeling that you'll be teaching them many more things.
ReplyDeletehaha, funny. Mmmmmmm, I want some smores now!
ReplyDeleteHaven't smores been around since the beginning of time? :)
ReplyDeleteI'd like to say I'm not like them, but I barely know who all the High School Musical stars are...I wonder how bad I'll be in 20 more years?!

I know what you mean. Unless someone or something is featured on Oprah my mom has no clue.
ReplyDeleteMy mum was a primary school teacher. She was more in tune with 'youth' culture than I was. it was embarrassing. For her, obviously.
ReplyDeleteLove it Jen. Cheers to cool parents who don't have to know that shit.
ReplyDeleteLove Renee xoxo

Whaaa? But s'mores are the best things ever! I'm so glad you educated your Dad on that, life is not life without some s'mores, haha :)
ReplyDeleteI say here here! Learn them old folks some pop culture! LOL. My mom knows smores.. but then again she was one of our girl scout leaders, for my troup. Either your parents are too young, or older than 80! But I have to say, I doubt my mom knows about Fast Times. I might have grown up with it, but I might not have shared that experience! Such a classic!!
ReplyDeleteCheers! And thanks for following my blog! Love yours!!!
Someone at my work didn't know what the Donner Party was. I thought everyone knew about that! :) It's weird what information different people end up missing.
ReplyDeleteyour parents sound precious.
ReplyDeleteMy parents are kind of the opposite. They're planning on going camping at the end of the summer, and my mom wants to make homemade marshmallow & homemade graham crackers fro s'mores. Sounds pretty amazing to me!
ReplyDeletemy parents would totally be on the same page with fast times references :) my dad brings it up from time to time! hehe
ReplyDeletehahah, this post is so cute, it reminds me of my own parents! :)
