Welcome to the madness, my dear and curious friends! Take a seat and sip some jasmine tea with me, and get ready for a story ...
Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! and through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.
'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
Feel free to nibble on a rose or almond cupcake, for each will take you new heights- although ... oh dear! I can't remember which one makes you smaller, and which one makes you taller! Good luck!
And be sure to say hello to the caterpillar who loves to share his rose flavored Armenian tobacco. His hookah is very special, for it brings friends together!
Alas, I must get back to my lomography shoppe and make sure my wonderland section is fully stocked!

P.S. If you are not already following Haute Whimsy's adventures, I would love for you to "follow" me down the rabbit hole!

So sorry I am late
ReplyDeleteFor this important date.
I'm still making my way down the list.
With too little time
I'm leaving this rhyme
For I'm adamant about wanting to persist.
All this running about
Has left me dry in the mouth.
Might I have a cup of tea
Your cakes of rose
and those of almond
Are so tempting to me
Oh my, the time
It goes so fast
I must be on my way
But fear not friend
I shall return
Please……Have a beautiful day.
Wow! You even have a hookah pipe! Great party!

ReplyDeleteYour little poem reminded me of my father. When I was a child, I loved his British Lit. text books from college. I discovered Chaucer but couldn't read it but my father, mind you, he's a first gen American...family from Mexico, could read it perfectly and that he did. Years later, I recited one of The Wife of Bath and my professor wanted to know where I learned to read old English...from my Beaner father!! hahahaha!!! Anyway, thanks for stopping by my blog and I just love yours...well visit again.
