I've been having a really difficult time getting back into the swing of things since the holidays. Have you, too? I had a lingering cold/flu bug of which the effects I still felt long after I was all better. Then I had an allergy flair-up and a bout of insomnia that lasted about a week. It's enough to take a serious toll on a girl!
Today is the first day since before the holidays that I woke up reasonably rested and feeling normal (knock on wood!). I'm looking around and noticing how my home appears to be a little neglected and in need of some serious TLC.
Also, with the eye opener of the Haiti quake, I've realized that my home also needs some earthquake preparedness. So this weekend is a home weekend- cleaning, organizing and supply stocking. Has the situation in Haiti caused you to rethink things in any respect?

Yes! At any time any thing could happen and life could be over. Life changing! :O)
ReplyDeleteI just got over my cold/flu after having it for a couple weeks. Now I'm starting to get on track though...
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Jen you are looking beautiful.
ReplyDeletexoxo
I said that I was going to take some of my birthday money and donate it towards Haiti relief and I will! They need it more than I do.
ReplyDeletei call it the january blues or as holly golightly said, "the mean reds"!
ReplyDeleteTragedy makes me remember how short life is. Giving extra hugs to my boy & loving on my friends & family much more this week!
ReplyDeleteoh its really good to be aware of earthquake safety. i think the last time i did anything to do with earthquake i was in highschool many years ago. i love your photos by the way. beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year girl. I've had a rough two weeks already. Just seems so hard right now. Still dealing with my cold and it just doesn't want to go away. :( xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks for mentioning that because that really got me thinking. I take for granted all the things I have and some days I come home and think uggg I've had such a bad day, but i don't even know what a bad day is...the people in Haiti do though and I feel greatly for them.
ReplyDeleteI think the tragedy in Haiti puts everything in perspective...I can have a crappy day of things going wrong but it does not compare to the devastation of hundreds of thousands of people dying. Good God.
ReplyDeleteHope your feeling better and getting back into the "Swing" of things....I have had a hard time as well. I JUST started taking down my Christmas decorations...ummmm....late night. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteSince you live in Cali..."YES" most wholeheartedly you must be prepared for an earthquake...have the proper supplies on had that you may need for an emergency of any type.
We live in Louisiana so we do this as well...it's crazy not to.
God Bless the Haitians....so sad.
Not rethinking anything as I don't live in an earthquake area. But still...! Events like this always tend to open my eyes a little wider.
ReplyDeleteYes it has! Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI think I'll raise awareness for the Haiti victims. It's so sad!
ReplyDeleteSorry you were sick... I had a flu bug on Christmas that just lingered for 2 weeks or so:( oh well.

Watching the troubles in Haiti really put things into perspective. Get better soon!
ReplyDeleteWe've had a lot of small earthquakes in the Bay Area lately ... which is always a reminder. I go back and forth between wanting to obsessively prepare (like the forty-gallon drums of water my parents used to keep in the garage) and feeling like there's nothing I can do. Which is lame.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're startin to feel better!
! Events like this always tend to open my eyes a little wider.
