Recoup & Regroup

When you're a freelancer, you really do work 24/7. You're your own boss, employee, HR, PR. There's so much planning and executing to every single day. Well, today is my day off, so to speak!

I keep feeling like all the colds and flues surrounding me are about to take hold, so I chose to do nothing for an entire day! By nothing, I actually mean doing all things I want to do.

I slept in, caught up on my favorite blogs, called my mom, pulled out a bunch of old CDs from high school (I can't believe how scratched they are- and that they still play!) and I think I may even soak my feet and paint my toes! We all need a day to regroup here and there.

How do you regroup?

  1. Good for you. So hard to just stop when you are self employed. I just love a day when I do absolutely nothing that makes me any money. The minute I bake something I can tell I'm in relax mode.

  2. Baking sounds like a great way to relax! Well, unless you have my kitchen, which is much too small to enjoy. I get anxious when I continuously bump into things while I'm cooking!

  4. Sounds like a great day! I like to do my nails, take bubble baths, do some virtual shopping...and its weird but I like to clean out/organize sometimes haha.

  5. I regroup exactly like you do, and it's pretty much the best feeling in the world! Painted toenails, magazines, tv shows, maybe a little reading and writing, cut some flowers for the kitchen table. Lovely! So glad (and jealous) you got a day of relaxation!

  10. I am a freelancer myself and I know what you mean by working 24/7. I normally go to the spa or a simple "me" time to recuperate and relax. xoxo

  11. I'm totally with hatjunkie. I love to bake to relax. I have a hard time settling down and doing absolutely nothing - I just sit there thinking about what should be done. Whipping up a batch of cookies or a cake seems to do the trick though.

  12. I am not sure if my comment earlier didn't post or not so I'll rewrite it.

I'm so glad you joined my blog - I did yours too. I like blogs that make you think.

I know when I get run down - I can feel it every where. People exercise and eat right - easier then they can just rest and relax and take care of themselves.

It almost makes you feel guilty - the good thing is this - after you get rested - you can do so much more.

    Feel better.
