Handful of Candles

{Happy Birthday via Rose Hill Design Studio}

It's a surreal feeling being in the last year of your twenties. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, but I'm ready to see what's next! A wise woman once told me that her twenties were great, but her thirties were awesome because they were just like her twenties, but with more money. That gives me hope!

So how did I spend the first day of the last year of my "youth"? Disneyland, but of course! Although, apparently everyone under the sun thought that would be a great way to spend the day as well. After just a couple hours of bumping into sweaty tourists and screaming children, (and accidentally stealing someone's lunch reservation- oops!) I escaped to a movie at Downtown Disney. Easy A was hilarious, by the way!

Other highlights included birthday tweets from a few of my favorite celebrities (thanks to my boyfriend who made that happen!), and a tea set from Anne Rice's personal collection (thanks, Mom!).

Today, it's back to the grind. If you can call freelance-writing from my kitchen table "the grind" ;) But in all seriousness, I have lots to do in preparation for the path of my 29th year. So, with great plans and high hopes, I bid you adieu!

  1. Sounds like a great birthday! I love the quote your friend gave you about your 30's! I have definitely liked my 30's better than the 20's. Having more money is definitely ONE of the reasons! :)
