Teeth Suck!

You may have noticed that I've been a little MIA since posting the free ad space on Haute Whimsy announcement. Sorry about that, but I swear, it has been for good reason!

I've been dealing with more wisdom teeth woes, and I finally got all four out yesterday morning! The day before the surgery I found myself sitting in the chair waiting to go over my x-rays, when all of a sudden Mariah Carey's Fantasy came on over the sound system. I was so sure I was going to have a Glee dental moment while I was under, but alas, it was not that glamorous.

I was the first patient the next day, and they whisked me into the operating room and had me out within mere minutes. I woke up in total shock and couldn't stop shivering, but other than that it went off (almost) without a hitch. I guess one tooth gave them a little trouble, so I'm thinking that's where the one-sided chipmunk face came from :)

Thankfully, I have great pain meds and a family who doesn't mind caring for me this week! My boyfriend has been at my beck and call, which is kind of a waste since I can't really eat, drink or move yet.

But I do have TV to keep my company. Other than catching up on Desperate Housewives, do you have any TV/Movie suggestions to help me out? Also, any soft foods that worked for you? I haven't graduated past yogurt yet, but I'd sure like to!

  1. I ate lots of popsicles and mashed potatoes when I had mine out. It was definitely not fun but the best part is that the worst is over now and you will heal pretty quickly. The surgical assistant told me that right after they started to give me the happy stuff in my IV that I told the doctor to hurry up because I was there to have a baby! LOL, I am sure they have heard it all though!

    Get well quick sweet Jen!

    Love,

  2. Animal crackers that are softened in applesauce. I needed something more substantial than popsicles.
Dexter is an awesome show if you don't already watch that.

  3. Hi LuLu! What a funny dental story! Yes, I'm sure they've heard it all! When my brother had his out, he prance around the room calling himself Wilbur- then promptly went to bed, lol.

Kimm, that sounds great! I love Animal Crackers!

  4. I would love to have a Glee dental moment. But I would recommend watching How I Met Your Mother (you'll be hooked) and eating sorbet/ice cream - when does one ever have a valid excuse to eat this for breakfast, lunch and dinner?

    Heal quick!

  7. I got so lucky when I got my wisdom teeth out. I did early in the morning and it only took 15 minutes. I was at home 3 days sleeping and watching tv and it was great. I recommend foods like applesauce, smoothies, grits, oatmeal, and yogurt. Good luck!
