Thanksgiving Movie Crazies

I hope that everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday weekend! Mine was nice and low key, spent with family and friends and a whole lot of brown-colored foods- turkey, rolls, stuffing, roast, gravy, pecan pie, brownies and chocolate. That may sound excessive, but it was my boyfriend's birthday over the weekend as well, so the feasting continued day after day!

I also skipped Black Friday shopping and opted for a late showing of the new Harry Potter movie. For those of you who don't know, I'm a massive fan!

I had tickets to see it in IMAX last weekend, but once I found seats in that overly-crowded theater I realized that they were way too close and off to the side to actually enjoy the movie. I asked for a refund and forced myself to wait a little longer.

So yes, this weekend was it! I went to the least crowded movie theater around and found perfect seating. The crowd was much older than me, so I was pretty sure I could count on them to be courteous of us other movie-goers.

Yes, they were great. The last-minute-seat-finding-giggly-teens who filed into the row behind me and then spilled into my row, on the other hand, were not. These girls sparked such a fury within me that I'm surprised I didn't beam my delightfully tasty Junior Mints at their heads with every ill-timed laugh and text alert! Aside from a few scathing looks flashed over my shoulder (which I'm quite sure they were oblivious to), I sat through it all in tame fashion. Although, I must admit, I took a little pleasure at their very vocal grief during one of the death scenes. Is that bad??

Needless to say, I'll be shelling out another round of move ticket funds so I can see it again (in peace) in a few weeks. Perhaps now I'll be able to see in IMAX!

  1. Same thing happened to me! I actually went to the premier of it so the theatre was packed, and there were loads of kids who just wouldn't shut up! I loved the movie but I will definitely be watching it again in (hopefully) more peaceful surroundings.
