Game of Thrones

Daenerys Targaryen, dragons, George R. R. Martin, Emilia Clarke, song of ice and fire, fantasy books, HBO showI would love to know who here watched Game of Thrones tonight! I've been anxiously awaiting this premier since the first mention of it on George R. R. Martin's blog ... ever so long ago. Back then, I thought the idea of the A Song of Ice and Fire series coming to TV was nothing but a hopeful dream; I have to admit, I feel the need to pinch myself even as I write this!

I've soaked in every teaser and photo as they were released, so I had an inkling as to how fantastic the visuals would be, but there was no way for me to fully grasp how profound it would feel to see these beloved characters come to life before my very eyes.

I wasn't disappointed with a single actor, to my surprise (I can be so critical of acting). I think everyone was perfectly cast (even Catelyn, which I would have argued otherwise before tonight- FYI for you Harry Potter fans, she played Hermione's mother in the last film), and I can't wait for more screen time with Daenerys and Tyrion. They're both so absolutely delicious!

If you haven't jumped on the Game of Thrones bandwagon, watch this trailer to see what the hype is all about! (NSFW)

  1. I heard that HBO is free right now, to coincide with the premier (they're trying to hook people!). They'll be showing repeats- I've watched it twice already!

  2. i've never heard of this, and i don't have a tv. maybe it'll go to netflix at some point?
