Ocean Views and Coffee

I just want to share a few photos from my Los Angeles hike yesterday! My rent is outrageous and the cost of living is ridiculous here, but this is why I stick around. My friend and I have been taking advantage of the beautiful weather with seaside hikes and Starbucks with an ocean view patio. Have you tried the new Mocha Coconut Frappucciono??? It's like coffee mixed with ice cream mixed with coconut cream pie! Treat yourself this weekend :)

  1. Gorgeous! I just moved to LA and I hear ya on the cost of living out here (and I was in NYC!). But I love it so far precisely because of these amazing views and the access to nature. I just got a book of LA day hikes as a gift and plan on using it lots.

  2. Welcome to Los Angeles! Yes, it's expensive here, but at least we have some awesome free things to do: hikes, beaches, biking up the coast. I highly suggest signing up for Groupon if you haven't already: http://www.groupon.com/r/uu478287 I buy restaurant groupons and save them for days when I want to try something new. I even saw one for a steeply discounted season pass to LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art). Yay, I love meeting locals through Haute Whimsy :) Thanks for visiting, Beth!

  3. I totally understand about paying ridiculous rent for gorgeous surroundings. I live in Vancouver, and we're tied with NYC for being the overall most expensive city in North America. And I put up with it simply because of our surroundings. :)

  4. Hi, thanks for visiting my blog! So far from Los Angeles as you can come, almost. But that's the beauty of internet and the blog world. That hike looks absolutely stunning, I would love that!

  10. See that horseshoe shaped cove in the photos. Yeah, well as a kid we used to cruise by on our boat and whip out the binauculars. Guess what, it use to be a nude beach. I promise, I saw it. Not quite sure if it still is though.
