Guest Post - Inspiring Rooms for Writers

Hi everyone! I'm Jessica from Arcadian Lighting, a blog and website all about the latest in interior designs and the wonderful lighting fixtures that go with them. As many of you may be aware, (painfully, even, if you're participating) it's National Novel Writing Month, in which case, you might be in need of some inspiration to help you make the deadline. Whenever I'm experiencing writer's block, I notice that a change of scenery or a nicely reorganized office space might be just the trick to give me an extra boost of creativity. With that in mind, here are eight rooms to inspire writers! Enjoy!

Home Office

If you find yourself becoming easily distracted, try creating a minimalist work space to keep your mind focused on writing and only writing. This room has a very clean palette that's very professional and chic.

This wallpaper will remind you that you're not alone in your creative endeavors. Draw inspiration from your favorite writers and forge ahead on your masterpiece. The sleek black pendant light ensures a bright work space without getting in the way.

A crisp, contemporary desk positioned just in front of the window is a great place to get writing. The black and white patterned curtain and bouquet of roses are lovely touches.

This rustic Aspen home office opens up to a gorgeous view that is sure to inspire. Taking a moment to enjoy the beauty of nature is an excellent way to refresh your mind, and if all else fails, a well stocked bookshelf is a perfect place to turn to for inspiration.

A small collection of souvenirs and artistic accessories on your desk may help spark your creativity, like these eclectic objects on Anais Nin's own writing desk.

The charming wallpaper in this home office brings the great outdoors inside for those who may not have the most inspiring views from the window. The industrial looking desk lamp beautifully ties in with the grey color scheme of the room.

Office Space

Sometimes the best ideas come while you're taking a relaxing bubble bath. Sudden stroke of inspiration? Don't let that disrupt your bath time, just turn the tub into a writing desk and you're good to go!

This corner work space is perfectly organized and color coded, making work easy and efficient. The polished brass wall lamps can be adjusted to make sure you have just the right amount of light as you write till the wee hours of the morning.
