Holiday Transitions

As much as I love Thanksgiving, I'm so glad it's over now! I had a fabulous time decorating for the tasty holiday and gathering with loved ones but, after two huge feasts thanks to having to split the day between my family and my boyfriend's family (and then a third feast two days later to accommodate out of town guests), I'm absolutely ready to eat light and gear up for the winter festivities!

I've been trying to decide when to go out and get a Christmas tree. If you celebrate with a tree, when do you plan on putting yours up?

  1. Glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving...I'm so looking forward to all the twinkle lights of the holidays and the music and family! This year since I will be back in NYC for the month of December with family and friends I'm not putting my tree up, but if I were, I would do so in a week around the first week in December.

  4. Ooo, before Thanksgiving?! That's actually a great idea, Stephanie! If you host the dinner, your guests would be able to enjoy such a festive evening :)

  5. I worry that the tree will dry out if I get it too early...and unfortunately, I have allergies. When the tree gets a little bit dry, the allergies get a little bit worse. :(
I always toy with the idea of some crazy retro silver or gold tree...or maybe a blue or red one. Hmmm......

  6. We're really slack in my family, and normally don't put up a tree until the 22nd or 23rd! This year, though, we'll be in Amman, Jordan, for the holiday! I doubt we'll be able to find a Christmas tree there......

  8. Jo- I love the idea of an unconventional tree! I put a stuffed frog-angel on top of mine each year. Most people think that it's strange. I think it's awesome!
