Happy Birthday, Elizabeth Taylor!

How many of you tuned into the Oscars last night?! I did, with munchies and cocktail in hand. The dresses were fabulous (I was in love with Ellie Kemper's burnt-toned strapless gown) and the Cirque du Soleil performance was breath-taking.

One of my favorite parts of award shows are the beautiful montages dedicated to talent that we've lost in the last year. It's bitter-sweet with the sadness of loss but with the joy of having witnessed the amazing work that these stars showcased for us over the years. I was mostly affected by the addition of Elizabeth Taylor. For some reason I thought we'd lost her a couple of years ago. Time is such a tricky thing. It brought a little smile to my face to see her in her Cleopatra garb, especially because I've been working on a crystal-laced print of that nature for the Haute Whimsy Etsy shop.

By total chance, today is Ms. Taylor's birthday so I decided to push the print early. I hope you enjoy :)

  2. Thanks, Jo! I've been working like a mad woman to get a whole set of these done for the shop. I'm going to do a real launch once I get the final product photos taken.

I don't know if you're on Pinterest, but I pinned you recently here: http://pinterest.com/hautewhimsy/brilliant
