Kindle Fire and RooKCasE

{Blogging on my new Kindle Fire}

Back in December I mentioned that I had ordered a Kindle Fire. After being adamantly opposed to eReaders for years, I finally broke down and bought one once Borders (my favorite bookstore) was taken from me. I justified my purchase by telling myself that this really wasn't so different than buying an iPad 2 - which turned out to be quite true!

I am MADLY in love with my Kindle and not only read books on it (which is ultra awesome in bed at night because the screen is the perfect built-in reading light), but I watch TV and listen to music and even blog! My Kindle Fire goes everywhere with me since its size is very purse-friendly.

This brought upon a dilemma, though. How was I suppose to protect this electronic treasure of mine? I feared setting my purse down too heavily and had terrifying visions of my keys scratching the screen. I obviously needed a case of some sort, but wanted something unique that truly fit my style.

That's where RooKCasE came into play! RooKCasE is an Etsy shop that specializes in unique cases made out of real books. They "up-cycle" old books and use the outside covers to make cases for tablets and eReaders. When you open the cover, you'll find a handmade birch tray that has been customized to fit your exact Kindle or iPad edition. The electronic device fits snugly inside and remains perfectly safe! And the best part, in my opinion, it that the tray is cut so that you can charge your Kindle while it's in the cover. It's a no fuss, no muss solution.

I chose a Breakfast at Tiffany's cover since it's one of my absolute favorite books and I'm a huge Audrey Hepburn fan. Every time I pull the Kindle out of my purse, people "ooo" and "ahh" and want to touch the cover and peek inside! They call it "clever" and want one of their own.

I can't speak highly enough about the Kindle Fire and RooKCasE. They're definitely 2 of the highlights of 2012 so far!

If you were to buy a RooKCasE cover, which one would you choose?!

P.S. You can follow RooKCasE on Facebook!
