Life has been busy this Spring and the Whimsy Diet has been an on and off process, depending on my time constraints. My poor Twitter account has been neglected for the most part, so I took a few minutes to login and catch up. One of the first things I saw was the hashtag #30DayHomies, courtesy of Kristen Bell (oh, how I adore her!).
I investigated and found that Bell organized and launched a low key exercise campaign where participants workout for 1 hour a day, every day. The neat thing is that this doesn't necessarily involve an hour at the gym. It just means 1 hour of constant movement. Using the hashtag to seek out other participants, I saw that some people are skateboarding, others are using their sleeping babies as weights as they walk around, and Bell herself walks her dogs to get that hour in sometimes.
She is every participant's best friend right now as she offers encouragement through @mentions, RTs and snippets of advice (such as "A tip 4 my
#30dayhomies -take stairs instead of escalators whenever possible. A set or 2 of stairs is nothin-& the blood rush feels great.").
So, let's make Kristen Bell our new workout buddy and treat ourselves to a healthy body this summer. I'm continuing on with the Whimsy Diet with my tea regimen and delectable foods like this, this and this.
