Happy 200th Birthday to Pride and Prejudice!

Today is most special, as it is Pride and Prejudice's 200th birthday! Go ahead, take a moment to fully wrap your head around that number and what it has meant to Jane Austen's most beloved work of fiction.

In those 200 years, the novel has been renamed and rewritten into many different takes to suit an array of literary tastes. Some call this blasphemous, but I love that a classic which may have been too stiff and stuffy for some is now at the ready for comic book nerds, zombie lovers and vampire fans

Personally, I love the classic "stiff and stuffy" version best! My. Darcy's brand of love was one of challenge and respect - just what any self-respecting girl should desire in any given century. It's a timeless tale and I hope to share it with my own daughter years from now.

Until then, I think I'll indulge and add to my game cabinet since I just found a themed trivia game and a super cheap computer game (seriously, $2.99 with the checkout code!). There's also a board game out there, but the price is a little too steep for me.

I'm about to dive into Les Misérables on my Kindle, so I think I'll pass on rereading Pride and Prejudice today and just cozy up on the couch for a Mr. Darcy movie marathon ;) Oh, and I guess I should partake in some birthday cake - it's only right!
