I have a new food obsession: Chocolate Mousse made from avocados! Some of you may already know that avocado is often used in desserts because of its creamy consistency and easily masked flavor. Others may have a slight snarl on their face right about now ;)
Truly, Avocado + unsweetened coco powder + honey + food processor = chocolate mousse. No lie! My boyfriend usually runs fast and far when I introduce new healthy food options, but he braved the mousse and, albeit skeptical at first, loved it!
He asked for another round of creamy chocolatey goodness for our The Walking Dead viewing last night. We had two huge avocados which made more mousse than we could eat!
Dark Chocolate Avocado Mousse
2 ripe avocados
6 TB unsweetened cocoa powder (we buy it in bulk at our local health food store, but you can try Hershey's or Ghirardelli as well)
5 TB honey
Blend all ingredients in a food processor until smooth and creamy. Refrigerate in fanciful dishes until ready to serve. Enjoy!
*I'm going to add a sprinkling of pistachios next time! I bet that hazelnuts would be good, too.
