Longing for Buffy the Vampire Slayer

You might think that I'm silly, but I really miss Buffy the Vampire Slayer! I started watching the campy show back in high school because it was filmed in my city (and the guys were cute!). It didn't take long for the show to take off, the budget to grow and the campiness to turn into clever witty dialog with a twist of dark humor.

Buffy Summers was the perfect heroine. She was a real girl with heart wrenching boy problems, huffy fights with her mom, late homework assignments, mean girl nemeses and she found time to fight against the forces of evil! She was flawed and inspiring. She taught every girl of my generation how to juggle responsibilities and find balance in life, all with snarky flair and a healthy dose of self-respect.

The series finale wrecked me, but I found solace in being able to introduce others to the show over the years. I've re-watched these beloved episodes through their eyes, and it's like seeing it for the first time all over again.

Living in the same town that Buffy was filmed in is perfect for a sentimental girl like me. I can take a 2 minute detour on my way to the post office when I want to see the Summer's house. Then I can drive past "Sunnydale High" on my way home. The mayor's office which Buffy scaled in season 3 is even on the way to my boyfriend's parents' house.

Are there any TV shows that you miss?
