As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I had a fun idea for a last minute Halloween costume! Even though I have about 50 things on my to-do list before I head off to Washington tomorrow, I took a few hours out of my evening to spend some quality (sugar-laced) time with my little nieces.

My costume was a loose take on a series of paintings done by one of my favorite artists, Emily Martin of The Black Apple. Emily's style is whimsical, wistful, inspiring and beautiful. I have several of her prints although, interestingly, none of which are from the Flower Girls series. Embodying Emily's work was the perfect treat for Halloween 2013!

What did you dress up as?
